I live right in the middle of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Our Great Lakes protect us from much of the extreme weather in other states.

We had clouds most of Sunday but the rain moved in overnight. Many areas reported thunder and lightning but I didn't see any here unless it happened when I was sleeping. Today is the first day of spring and it feels like it. Hopefully, the snow is done for the season although more below normal temps are in the forecast for later this week.

We have 1.5 inches of very heavy, wet snow this morning which melted down to 0.24". It is very pretty and I know that it won't last very long with our temp already above freezing. I should put my boots on and go out for a walk since it really is quite a nice morning.

Today will see more wind, not what is needed in the recovery effort; however it won't be as bad as Tuesday and Wednesday. The prediction is for March to be colder than normal, ...

To look out the window, one would expect a beautiful spring day, but one step outdoors tells you that it still is winter. It is nice until the wind hits you. One good thing is that the car stays warm if you have to venture out and park in the sun. That's what I had to do this morning and I know that it had to be 80° in the car when I came out from the store. We are expecting another round of very warm weather for the beginning of the w...

At least we have a little sun today, but the winds diminish any desire to go outdoors. Yesterday was very blustery with gusts up to 30 mph and dropping temperatures all day. Our high occurred in the wee hours of the morning. We didn't see any sun and sporadic lake effect snow showers were the order of the day. There were no real accumulations and only melted down to 0.01" in my gauge. The ground is warm enough that any ground cover melted shortly a...
