High Wind Warning
Issued: 9:17 PM MST Dec. 11, 2018 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 am MST Wednesday...

* timing... strong wind gusts will occur overnight. Wind gusts
around 60 mph have already occurred tonight west of Cody and
south of Clark.

* Winds... west 35 to 45 mph with gusts 65 to 75 mph expected.
Even stronger winds are expected especially near and south of
Clark where winds over 90 mph are possible.

* Impacts... travellers on Highway 120 from just south of Cody to
Clark should be prepared for dangerous cross-winds. Winds can
develop rapidly and be calm one minute and then be blowing 70
to 80 mph the next minute. Keep two hands on the wheel and
slow down if needed.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
