Flood Warning
Issued: 3:49 AM CDT Apr. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wisconsin river at Portage.
* At 3:00 am Monday the stage was 17.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
tomorrow early afternoon.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... there is general overflow of the river.
Water is near homes in the Blackhawk Park area of Portage on the
south side of the river along Old River Road. Floodwaters are over
West Lake Road and Blackhawk Road in the Blackhawk Park area.

... Elevated risk of wildfires today...

The combination of warm temperatures, low humidity and breezy
south winds will cause an elevated risk of wildfires from late
morning through the afternoon across most of southern Wisconsin.

Fires could start easily and spread quickly. Be very careful with
hot equipment near dry, grassy areas and do not throw cigarettes
out your window.

The Wisconsin department of natural resources has put all of
southern Wisconsin in the high fire danger category. Burn
restrictions may be in place so check with your local
municipality.
