... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect
Stokes... Rockingham... western Caswell... southern Pittsylvania...
southern Halifax and southern Henry counties... the city of Danville
and the southeastern city of Martinsville...

Until 1115 PM EDT

At 1016 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Westover Hills and Danville to near
Germanton to near King. Movement was east at 50 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these

and South Boston.

This includes the following locations the Martinsville Speedway,
Martinsville Airport, and Danville Airport.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
