Flood Warning
Issued: 8:13 PM CST Feb. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Osceola
* until Monday March 11.
* At 8 PM Wednesday the stage was 35.8 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Maximum forecast stage of 39.0 feet on Wednesday February 27.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* The river rose above flood stage and will continue rising to near
39.0 feet by Wednesday February 27. The river will fall below flood
stage Monday March 11.
* At 39.0 feet... in Tennessee, Highway 19 is flooded at Conner Road
cutting off evacuations west of that intersection. Crawford Road
east is under water at places. Trailer settlement south of Coker
Slough is covered. House on east end of outbounds Road is flooding.
Moore Farmstead is being covered. Houses on Cash Road are flooding.
Hunting Camp on Sunrise Towhead is beginning to flood. Farmstead on
sniper island west of herring hill Road is going under water. In
Arkansas, Farmstead at Tomato is under water.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east Arkansas, north
Mississippi, and west Tennessee, including the following
areas, in east Arkansas, Crittenden, cross, Lee, Phillips, and
St. Francis. In north Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun,
Chickasaw, Coahoma, DeSoto, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee,
Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman,
Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, and
Yalobusha. In west Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Chester,
Crockett, Decatur, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood,
Henderson, Madison, McNairy, Shelby, and Tipton.

* From Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening

* an additional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is expected across the
watch area with isolated higher amounts.


* Street flooding will be a hazard for motorists. Low-lying and
poor drainage areas will be at risk for flash flooding, as well
as small streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
