* Flash Flood Warning for...
southwestern Broome County in central New York...
southeastern Tioga County in central New York...
northwestern Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

* until 530 PM EDT

* at 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain moving into the warned area. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2
inches will be enough to cause flash flooding especially in areas
that were hit hard with heavy rain Sunday night.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Binghamton, Vestal, Johnson City, Endicott, Port Dickinson,
Friendsville, Apalachin, Tioga terrace, Chenango Bridge and Vestal
Center.

* at 216 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches will be enough to cause flash flooding especially in areas
that were hit hard by heavy rain Sunday night.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sheshequin, Ulster, Litchfield, Orwell, Windham, Rome, Le
Raysville, Little Meadows, Warren Center and Middletown Center.

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania,
including the following areas, in central New York, Broome and
Tioga. In northeast Pennsylvania, Bradford and Susquehanna.

* Until 8 PM EDT this evening

* scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon. Some of
these storms will produce locally heavy rain. Portions of
Bradford and Susquehanna counties in Pennsylvania as well as
Broome and Tioga counties in New York received 2 to 4 plus
inches of rain last night. The potential for an additional inch
of rain in a short period of time today may lead to more flash
flooding, especially in these sensitive areas.

* Most favorable areas for flash flooding are the poor drainage
areas in and around urban locations, and the sensitive areas
that have recently received heavy rain and experienced
flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
