Flood Warning
Issued: 1:30 PM CDT May. 24, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River near Williston.
* Until further notice.
* At 12:45 PM Thursday the stage was 23.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.9 feet by
Monday evening.
* Impact... at 24.0 feet... water begins to cover oil well location
south and east of Williston. Wildlife management areas are flooded.
City of Williston does not flood.

... Funnel clouds have been reported in parts of northwestern
North Dakota...

At around 4pm CDT, funnel clouds were reported by people in the
Williston area. The showers and isolated thunderstorms producing
these funnel clouds were moving east at 20 mph.

These funnel clouds were not associated with severe thunderstorms.
They are formed by showers or thundershowers when unique
meteorological conditions exist.

These types of funnel clouds are usually short lived, however,
they can and occasionally do touch the ground and cause minor
damage. Because of this possibility, if you see one of these
funnel clouds, take cover immediately.
