The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following
areas, Beaufort, Mainland Dare, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer
Banks Dare, Outer Banks Hyde, Tyrrell, and Washington.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* heavy rain is expected to develop over the area late this
afternoon and continue through Saturday afternoon. Storm total
rainfall is expected to range from 2 to 4 inches, with localized
higher amounts.

* This rainfall could produce flash flooding, particularly in
poor drainage areas near creeks, streams and ditches. Street
flooding is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
