... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CDT
Thursday...

* timing... expect periods of snow to continue, diminishing around
6 am Thursday.

* Precipitation rates... the heaviest snowfall rates will occur
between 7 PM this evening and 1 am Thursday.

* Snow accumulations... additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5
inches are expected.

* Winds / visibilities... look for reduced visibilities at times.

* Impacts... although snow was melting on roadways across much of
the area this afternoon, snow is expected to start accumulating
on roads this evening as the temperature falls. Plan on
slippery Road conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving. The latest Road conditions for the state you are calling
from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

... Slick roads overnight as light snow continues and temps fall...

Lingering light snow overnight over northeast North Dakota and
northwest Minnesota will combine with subfreezing temperatures to
create slippery and slick Road and pavement surfaces right on
through the morning ride to work and school Thursday morning.

The wet nature of the snow and warm ground caused the snow to melt
as it fell during the daylight hours on Wednesday, but this has
changed with nightfall and now the snow will have an easier time
accumulating. Water left by earlier melting snow is and will
continue to freeze adding to the treacherous conditions.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use care when navigating
roadways and walkways until temperatures move above freezing on
Thursday.
