Issued: 2:32 AM CST Nov. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 6 am this morning to 9 PM
CST this evening...

* timing... gusty southerly winds will occur ahead of a cold front
this morning. In the wake of the cold frontal passage, even
stronger northwest winds will occur this afternoon and early
this evening.

* Winds... peak wind gusts will be 40 to 45 mph, mainly from mid
afternoon into the early evening hours.

* Impacts... minor damage is possible along with more difficult
driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to
reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour... or wind gusts
are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.

Calloway... southern Livingston... south central Crittenden...
northwestern Christian... Caldwell... Marshall... southeastern
McCracken... central Trigg... southwestern Hopkins... northern Graves
and Lyon counties until 315 PM CST...

At 210 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Salem to 7 miles south of Burna to Reidland to
8 miles east of Bardwell. Movement was east at 40 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

The winds may cause some tree limbs and small trees to fall, as well
as produce some power outages.

Locations impacted include...
Murray, Mayfield, Princeton, Benton, Dawson Springs, Calvert City,
Cadiz, Eddyville, Reidland, Land Between The Lakes area, Olney,
Ledbetter, energy, Farmersville, Cobb, Canton, Woodlawn-Oakdale,
Rockcastle, Kuttawa and Hardin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Paducah.


A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CST for
western Kentucky.
