* until 900 am CST

* at 405 am CST, Doppler radar indicated a large area of showers and
isolated thunderstorms extending from eastern missori into
northeast Illinois. Pockets of moderate to heavy rain are embedded
within this area. These showers and thunderstorms will continue
through the early morning hours across the advisory area. Rainfall
totals of three quarters of an inch to an inch and a quarter are
likely by the time the rain ends later this morning. Due to the
frozen ground, much of the rainfall will become immediate run off
and result in ponding of water in low lying and poor drainage
areas.

* Some locations that may will experience some minor flooding
include...
the Chicago metropolitan area, as well as the LaSalle-Peru,
DeKalb, and Pontiac areas.

Motorists this morning should exercise caution and be on the look
out for standing water on roadways.
