Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 5:30 AM PDT Oct. 16, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 11 am PDT this
morning for gusty northwest winds and low humidity for fire
weather zones 220, 221, 266, 267, 268, and 269...

* affected areas... fire weather zones 220, 221, 266, 267, 268,
and 269. This includes the northeast foothills, motherlode,
western Plumas mountains, and west slopes of the northern
Sierra Nevada.

* Wind... areas of northeast to east wind 15 to 20 mph with local
gusts 30 to 40 mph. Wind strongest over ridges, and through
favorably oriented canyons.

* Humidity... early morning humidity recovery only 15 to 25
percent. Low daytime minimum humidity down into the teens this
afternoon.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
