Flood Warning
Issued: 11:18 AM CST Feb. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cache River near Patterson.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Sunday the stage was 12.1 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 12.5 feet by
late Wednesday night. Additional rain is forecast Tuesday night into
Wednesday so please monitor future forecasts for any updates.
* Impacts at 12.5 feet... major problems in Grubbs, Patterson, Dixie,
and Amagon in Jackson and Woodruff counties. Woodruff County Road
775 flooded. State highways 18, 37, 33, and 38 affected in various
locations in Woodruff and Jackson counties. Many homes miles from
the main river channel may need to be protected by ring levees.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Newport.
* From late Monday night to Friday afternoon... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Sunday the stage was 24.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Tuesday morning and
continue to rise to near 27.0 feet by Tuesday evening. However
additional rain is forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday so
please monitor future forecasts for any updates.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet... many thousands of acres of cropland are
inundated. Water is near State Highway 14. Many private levees are
overtopped allowing the river to flood cropland. Water in portions
of Jacksonport State Park that are on river side of levee.
* Impacts at 27.0 feet... State Highway 14 between Newport and Oil
Trough and State Highway 122 to Newark affected. Possible
structural flooding along State Highway 14 in Independence County.
Bateman levee patrolling begins.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Black River at Black Rock.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 am Sunday the stage was 22.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 23.5 feet by this
evening and remain elevated for several days as water is routed from
upstream. However additional rain is forecast Tuesday
night into Wednesday so please monitor future forecasts for any
updates.
* Impacts at 20.0 feet... agricultural land is flooding along both
banks of the river in Lawrence, Independence, and Jackson counties.
Minor flooding in Powhatan community and courthouse State Park.
* Impacts at 24.0 feet... thousands of acres of cropland and pastures
flooded. State Highway 37 in Independence County east of Cord may
be flooded. Water rises into low lying streets in Powhatan. Ball
Park and boat ramp area in Black Rock floods.
