* at 146 PM CDT, a number of roadways were reported to be underwater
in the warned area. Runoff continues from recent heavy fainfall,
and flooding will continue, or develop from the runoff.

... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Black River at Black Rock.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1:00 PM Sunday the stage was 25.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 29.5 feet by
late Monday.
* Impacts at 24.0 feet... thousands of acres of cropland and pastures
flooded. State Highway 37 in Independence County east of Cord may
be flooded. Water rises into low lying streets in Powhatan. Ball Park
and boat ramp area in Black Rock floods.
* Impacts at 25.0 feet... State Highway 37 will probably flood on west
side of Black River. State Highway 25 south of Black Rock and State
Highway 69 near Jacksonport may be partially flooded. Water will be
in portions of Powhatan State Park. Extensive cropland flooding,
flooding classified as moderate.
* Impacts at 28.5 feet... Highway 412 between Highway 63 and Walnut
Ridge becomes inundated by flood waters.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Newport.
* From this afternoon until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Sunday the stage was 25.1 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 32.0 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet... many thousands of acres of cropland are
inundated. Water is near State Highway 14. Many private levees are overtopped
allowing the river to flood cropland. Water in portions of Jacksonport State
Park that are on river side of levee.
* Impacts at 27.0 feet... State Highway 14 between Newport and Oil Trough
and State Highway 122 to Newark affected. Possible structural flooding
along State Highway 14 in Independence County. Bateman levee patrolling begins.
* Impacts at 28.0 feet... Bateman levee may be threatened with overtopping.
State Highway 14 east of Newport at Village Creek could be flooded by
backwater. State Highway 14 west of Newport is flooded. State Highway 69
in Independence County may be flooded. Flooding up Village Creek extends
to eastern portions of Newport. Extensive flooding of cropland in Jackson
and Independence County along the white and the lower Black River. River
crested slightly above 28 feet in December 2001 and March 2002.
* Impacts at 30.0 feet... serious flood problems in Jackson and Independence
counties. Flooding extends across entire White River Valley downstream of
Newport. State highways 14, 37, 69, and 384 in the vicinity of Newport may
all be affected by flooding. Village Creek may be backing into portions of
Newport.
* Impacts at 31.0 feet... patrolling of Newport, Jacksonport, and
Village Creek levees begins. Homes and businesses inside levee at
Newport flooded. State highways 14, 37, 69, 367, and 384 may all be
impacted by flooding with the lower lying highways closed.

the White River at Batesville.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 am Sunday the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
to rise to near 24.0 feet by Monday evening.
* Impacts at 15.0 feet... there will be minor flooding of agricutural
land along the river. A 15 foot stage at the bridge is equivalent
to 23 foot flood stage at lock one tailwater staff gage.
* Impacts at 17.0 feet... a portion of State Highway 14 near Oil
Trough may flood. Agricultural land along right bank floods. A crest
of 17 feet at the bridge is equivalent to 28 foot crest at The Lock
one tailwater staff gage.
* Impacts at 18.0 feet... moderate flooding is occurring. State
Highway 14 near Oil Trough, and farmland along the river may be flooded.
A crest of 18 feet at the bridge is equivalent to a crest of 30 feet
at The Lock one tailwater staff gage.
* Impacts at 20.0 feet... portions of Oil Trough and lower portions of
southwest Batesville may be flooded. State highways 14 and 69 affected.
Many thousands of acres of agricultural land is flooded. A 20 foot crest
at the bridge is equilvalent to a 32 foot crest at The Lock one tailwater
staff gage.
* Impacts at 22.0 feet... lower portions of Batesville and Oil Trough
will flood. State highways 14 and 69 will be closed. A crest of 22 feet
at the bridge is equivalent to a 34 foot crest at The Lock one
tailwater staff gage.
* Impacts at 23.0 feet... this is a serious flood situation. Portions of
Batesville and Oil Trough will flood. State highways 14 and 69 are
flooded. A crest of 23 feet at the bridge is equivalent to a 35 foot
crest at The Lock one tailwater staff gage.
