rain. Plan on difficult to impossible travel conditions. Total
snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of
around one tenth are expected.
* Where... St Lawrence Island and Bering Strait coast.
* When... 10 am today to 6 PM Thursday.
* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 75 mph will cause
widespread areas of blowing and drifting snow. Strong winds,
snow, blowing snow and low visibility are expected to develop
over St Lawrence Island Wednesday morning and spread to the
Bering Strait Wednesday afternoon. Snow is expected to mix with
rain over St Lawrence Island Wednesday afternoon and to mix
with rain in the Bering Strait Wednesday night.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice are expected. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible. Strong winds are also possible.
